Thanks to winning a grant from American Express the Paragon Carousel replaced all twelve doors to the building that houses the Paragon Carousel with beautiful wooden doors that replicate the original doors from 1928. The grant also allowed us to renovate all the windows above the doors so that now light streams into the building. Thank you!

New Contest Starts Tomorrow!

The object of the contest is to correctly guess where Muffy MacMouse is staying in Hull during the weeks of the contest.  Muffy MacMouse is the main character in the book Muffy MacMouse and the Village of Friendship, written by Hull resident, Kate MacLeod Emery.  The illustrations were done by Norwell resident, Rich Daley. The book is a children’s book that teaches a lesson about caring and sharing.  The book may be purchased at the Paragon Carousel, Simply Irresistible and most book stores on the South Shore.  You can also follow the adventures of Muffy MacMouse on Facebook.

1. Contest will run from April 20, 2013 to May 18, 2013.

2. The first five names drawn with the correct location will be awarded a free Muffy MacMouse and the Village of Friendship book and four (4) tickets to ride the Paragon Carousel.

3. Only one winning entry will be drawn per person/family.

4. Entry slips will be available from the cashier at the Carousel and can be deposited in a box marked "Where is Muffy."

5. Slips must be clearly marked with your name, telephone number and the correct location of Muffy in order to win.

6. Clues will be in the Hull Times and at Muffy MacMouse on Facebook each week during the contest.

7. The winners will be drawn at the Carousel on Sunday, May 18, at 4:00 PM.

Join us for our Fourth Annual Derby Day at the Paragon Carousel

Derby Day - Friday, May 3, 2013 7PM - 10PM

Join us for a night at the races! Derby Day is our most popular adult event of the season.

Being held the night before the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby, the event will feature six “races” of carousel horses at the Paragon Carousel, with prizes awarded to the race winners. Authentic mint juleps, a full bar and delicious food will be featured. This year our event will be caterered by noted Chef Michael Aprea. A cocktail hour will begin at 7:00 pm with savory hors d'oeuvres passed on platters and food carts filled with derby-themed appetizers and dinner selections will be available at 8 pm.

Red roses will be given to the ladies who wear a decorated derby hat!

Carousel horses are available for sponsorship for an entry fee of $100. HORSES ARE SOLD OUT AS OF 4.30.13. THE TWO ROMAN CHARIOTS ARE AVAILBLE FOR SPONSORSHIP FOR A DONATION OF $500.

Sponsors are encouraged to decorate and dress their horses in their own colors. A jockey may ride the horse as well. Both ladies and men are encouraged to wear an original Derby Hat--the more creative, the better--as there will be a prize awarded to the best hat of the night.

Please click here to see a video of a past Derby Day.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Paragon Carousel and will support all restoration efforts.

Tickets are $25 each and are tax-deductible and can be purchased Through the "Buy Now" button below.

Sponsor forms are available to download here
