We ❤️ Groups at the Paragon Carousel!

Scouts, schools, seniors, camps, clubs – need a great new idea for your next outing?
The Paragon Carousel offers beauty, fun, and history for your group to enjoy.

The Paragon Carousel has been operating on beautiful Nantasket Beach since 1928.
Built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, it’s one of only about 35 original PTC carousels left in existence.

What can my group do at the Paragon Carousel?

The Paragon Park Museum is the perfect place to hear a brief history of the park’s 1905 founding and its evolution from a Victorian-era “exposition” to the contemporary amusement park model we’re more familiar with.

In the Museum, you can…

  • Listen to modern recordings of songs about a trip to Paragon Park written in the early 1900s,

  • Marvel at a scale model of the Giant Coaster and watch a “rider’s view” video – complete with screams! – of a front car trip on the classic wooden coaster,

  • See an original Kooky Kastle cart,

  • Check out the scale from the “Guess Your Weight” booth run by the beloved George Kasian for more than 50 years…

...and more!

Paragon Park and Carousel clothing, memorabilia, and books are available for purchase in the Museum gift shop.

Don’t forget the Paragon Carousel itself! Our beautiful carousel boasts four rows of sixty-six intricately-carved horses and two rare Roman chariots. Decorations include thirty-five original paintings, thirty-six cherubs, and eighteen goddesses.

All upkeep and restoration of the Paragon Carousel and its beautiful horses is done by our exceptionally talented Curator, James Hardison, in his on-site Restoration Studio – where you can watch him use the very same techniques used in 1928!

Enjoy a spin on the Carousel with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of the horses and the story of their place in Paragon Park’s history. Listen to the Wurlitzer band organ fill the air with music as you whirl round and round, like generations of the young at heart before you!

Finish your visit with a sweet treat – the Carousel Creamery serves ice cream from the award-winning Gifford’s of Maine. Don’t forget your jimmies!
